Jeffrey Wimette - Business Manager/Financial Secretary
Jeffrey has been a licensed electrician with the Union and a member of this local since 1999. He has a degree in Architectural Engineering from Vermont Technical College. He also has an extensive military background, and still remains a proud member of the US Army reserves. Jeffrey was appointed Assistant Business Manager in March 2006, and now newly elected Business Manager in July 2008. He heads our team of dedicated leaders here at Local 300. He also Chairs the J.A.T.C. committee, helping to ensure the apprenticeship program stays “cutting edge”, further enabling this local to have the talents and skills needed to keep up in this competitive industry.

George Clain - Asst. Business Manager/President
George’s started his electrical background after graduating from Barre’s Spaulding High School. He went on to attend DeVRY Technical Institute in Chicago where he earned a technical degree in electronics. After graduation he voluntary enlisted for the draft and served 21 months in the Army as light weapons infantry man. Upon returning from active duty George worked at Western Electric and started his membership with the Union. George has been a member of this local since 1982. Since becoming a member George has served as a steward and a negotiator. In 1996 he was Elected President and was appointed Assistant Business Manager. During his tenure as Assistant Business Manager he helped moved the Local forward by gaining political access and by building alliances with other unions and organizations. In July of 2005 George was appointed Business Manager to fill the remaining term vacated by Brother Timothy Watkins. George is an energetic and enthusiastic leader. George was instrumental in making Vermont the only New England state that does not have utility restructuring. In July 2008, George was appointed to assist J newly elected Business Manager Jeffrey Wimette in the continuing effort to ensure our members rights.

Jean Watkins - H.R./Benefit Fund Administrator/ J.A.T.C.
Training Director
Jean has been employed at Local 300 since April 1992. As Benefit Fund Administrator, she is responsible for Administration of Local 300 Unit 7 Pension, NEBF and IBEW Pension plans. She is incredibly knowledgeable of Pensions, health benefits and virtually every other subject that has to do with union business. As Director of Human Resources, Jean handles all of payroll, budgets and credits for the General Fund, EIAP and COPE accounts. Jean is also the Director for our Apprenticeship program, providing her experience and wisdom to the new generation of the IBEW Local 300 family.

Matt Lash - Marketing and Business Development Director
Matt joined the hall in September 2007. A graduate of St. Michael's College, he came to Local 300 from the Barre Partnership, a nonprofit committed to revitalizing the Granite City's downtown. Matt returned to his native Vermont in late 2005 after a stint in New York City, where he most recently worked for a public relations firm in Manhattan. There, he managed accounts for financial, technology, professional services and emerging growth companies, as well as for select not-for-profit organizations and educational institutions. Prior to that, Matt handled the marketing and communications efforts for the events division of a global growth-consulting firm in New York City. He holds a bachelor of arts in journalism and mass communication with a minor in political science.

Holli Vidal - Office Manager/
Asst. to the J.A.T.C. Director/
Web Developer.
Holli has been with us since July - 2005. She is responsible for maintaining order in this busy office. Many of you have met her when you come in to pay your dues. Holli does her best to funnel all union business into the correct hands. Please feel free to ask her any questions you have, if she does not know the answer, she will certainly point you in the right direction. Holli also assists Jean in running the Apprenticeship Program. Holli has chosen to use her talents on the development and maintenance of our website. She is always looking for suggestions or new content to publish on our site, please feel free to contact her if you have anything you’d like to share.
